End-of-Day Report
An end-of-day report is a document that summarizes a retail store's daily sales and cash activity at closing time. It brings together total revenue, the number of transactions, a breakdown by payment type (cash, card, store credit), and the match between the physical cash in the drawer and the figures recorded in the system. The goal is to confirm whether the till balances at the end of the day and to evaluate daily performance clearly.
This report matters because it helps you catch cash discrepancies early, track which products sold, and keep daily revenue under control. A typical end-of-day report includes:
- Total sales amount and the number of receipts or invoices
- A breakdown by payment type along with refund totals
- The difference between expected cash and counted cash
For example, in a shop that takes in ₺3,000 in cash and ₺2,000 on card during the day, the end-of-day report shows whether the cash in the drawer matches the expected ₺3,000. Kept consistently, these reports also reveal sales trends over time. Learn more with Welda Stock and our guide on inventory tracking with Excel.
